In October, 2010, we hosted our first College Readiness Dialogues at Blue Valley High School for the metro Kansas City area. We had over 90 librarians and invited educators from virtually every school district in the area: Kansas, Missouri, public, private, alternative. 12 colleges and universities were represented. One thing that was prominent in the feedback: We Want More! So, the following year, we expanded to a full-day on November 12, 2011. Again, we had approximately 100 attendees from all over the mid-west area (14 colleges and universities plus 3 public library systems)! There were numerous discussions, presentations, and networking opportunities galore!
This year, our third annual College Readiness Dialogues - Together We Succeed! - is being held at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center (just east of the Plaza in Kansas City, MO, and directly south of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art). With this beautiful conference facility, we're able to expand with additional presentations, workshops, and speakers. It's going to be a full-day of information ranging from Common Core and its implications in the Library to best practices. Come and network! Join our group and begin to make those professional connections to further your experiences in the ever changing world of education and librarianship.
And, once again, this event is free to attend! Lunch will be catered by the Kauffman Foundation (no outside food is allowed); you will be supplied a menu (lunch must be paid-for 2 weeks in advance).

So, mark this date on your calendar: Friday, April 26, 2013. 9:00 - 4:00 (check-in opens at 8:30) and join in the conversation! And, bring your Curriculum & Instruction personnel; all are welcome and encouraged to attend!
