Former CG Graduate Donates Books

Al Pickett, 1971 graduate of Council Grove High School and chairman of the Big Country Athletic Hall of Fame in Abilene, TX, donated five autographed copies of his books to the CGJSHS library. After leaving CG, Pickett went on graduate from KSU with a degree in journalism and mass communications. Then, he started his career as a radio sportscaster and play-by-play announcer at radio stations in Kansas and Arkansas. Later, Pickett was the sports editor of the Abilene Reporter-News for 15 years. His books include Brother's Keeper and Team of the Century.
