EasyBib makes citation easier, but using it does not guarantee that you can just turn off your brain. Sometimes you have to fill in the blanks, particularly when you are citing web pages because EasyBib's AutoCite tool is not foolproof.
EasyBib’s AutoCite tool scrapes metadata from external websites and enters in the bibliographic data into our citation form based on what we can find. Because we cannot control how the metadata is organized within external websites, we alert students in bold, red text that they need to confirm or modify the information we provide in the citation form.
This video demonstrates website AutoCite.

Students like AutoCite because it limits the amount of bibliographic data they have to copy and paste from a website into our citation form. Our AutoCite feature can help students build bibliographies quickly, but we understand that some teachers prefer that students enter citation information manually. This is why we made it configurable — EasyBib School Edition and Library Edition users can turn off AutoCite if you prefer to build citations from scratch. To do so, access your Admin Dashboard, go to System Settings and uncheck "Enable Autocite."
